Just Cinderella castle, Disney World, Florida, 2005

Noon in the Antelope Canyon. The canyon is located in a dried out river bed, near Page, Az. Antelops used to pass by, that is why the name. Summer storms share the canyon to their own tastes and colors. Flash floods are very dangerous and killed 11 people once, though the whole place is 3 min to go through.

Antelope Canyon (Upper), the Lower Canyon is on the other side of the road with self-guided tours. Local Navajo, who own the land, were not cooperative enough and lost, we did not go there.

NorthWest, 2006 : Olympic National Park trip during the memorial day weekend. I was stunned by the fabulous beauty of the peninsula and the rain forest. Yes, believe it or not there is very real rain forest so far north in the US. Starting in Port Townsend, one of the "oldest" ports in the country. Going there? Do not miss a restoraunte called "Fin" - so yammy, best sea food ever! Next day was most North-West point on the continental US, Cape Flattery, the Pacific is mighty. Going south, we hiked 8 mile access trail to Shi Shi beach and the Point of Arches. All the mud we were through was worth it. With come-and-go storm clouds and rain, the sun gave endless joy, litting up the green ocean waves that were crashing the ocean.

Seattle, Winter 2006 : Little trip on New Year's Eve. We went to explore the city. Pike Market was good as always with tons of yammy things. We went to the first Starbucks for coffee and to "Piroshki" for the obvious (from the name). At Pioneer Square we went to the Underground Museum to know how Seattle happened to be what it is now after the great fire of late 18th century. Facing the imminent construction after the fire, the locals took advantage and improved the landscape of the city by building new brick houses first and later leveling the land to protect from tides. As a result alot of the groundfloors happened to be literaly underground, where we got lucky to roam and listen to the city history. In the nutshell: some poor lad from a glue store put the whole city on fire, the city got nicely reconstructed but still being nototious as a sincity with 10:1 male to female ratio and marketing itself as a gate to gold klondikes (2ooo mile to the mainland, however). That was apparently life before Starbucks and Microsoft. So, Seattle grew into its today wondeful, multifaced city.

Los Angeles, New Year, 2006 : Our trip to Los Angeles on Christmas. There was a good working out biking trip along the Pacific coast to Santa Monica, CA. I visited my would-be school for communication. I guess, I would not mind studying there at all, however, LA does not seem to be a very safe place to be. Starting from Little Armenia, we walked through the Hollywood Bld. enjoying multiple stars on the sidewalk. There are some no-name-yet stars, in case interested. Rodeo Drive impressed us with its quiet beauty and fame of the very essence of American culture.
Our mini Trip to San Diego was just wonderful. All the animals in the zoo feel almost home (well, probably far from it). The Giant Pandas are the main attraction. Eating 400 lb. of bamboo a day, these guys are busy and do not care about us, people, who stare at them in a sheer excitement. Balboa Park, next to the zoo, could not be missed. It has the feeling of Little Spain.
